JFA renews partnership with Real Federación Española de Fútbol

Japan Football Association (JFA) signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF) on 29 April 2026. JFA and RFEF have cooperated at various levels since the MoU was first signed on 22 January 2010 and hope to further expand their partnership going forward.
The signing ceremony took place in Vancouver, Canada and went in an amicable manner. Both parties discussed how various exchanges can be conducted through the renewal of the partnership this time and expressed high expectations for future initiatives.
The MoU ceremony was conducted in the presence of:
・Mr. Rafael LOUZAN, President, RFEF
・Mr. Alvaro DE MIGUEL CASANUEVA, General Secretary, RFEF
・Mr. MIYAMOTO Tsuneyasu, President, JFA
・Mr. YUKAWA Kazuyuki, General Secretary, JFA
The MoU between RFEF and JFA aims to facilitate cooperation in the following areas:
・Women’s Football – Administrative, Professional player development (including Liga F and WE League)
・Grassroots – Academies and Youth Football
・Sharing best practices and knowledge exchange for event operations regarding FIFA World Cup 2030 and UEFA EURO 2032 preparations
・Technical and educational courses, seminars and annual coaching conferences
・Broadcasting rights
・Data and performance analysis
・Exchanges regarding training of technical personnel and organisational procedures (RFEF to annually appoint high-level instructors and specialized instructors to Japan for relevant course lectures, and to invite elite youth coaches annually to Spain for short-term study)
・Exchanges of experience, expertise and training in the areas of sports science and sports medicine referring to football
・Public Relations, Media and Technology,
・Exchanges of information and material of a technical and expert nature.
・Exchanging experiences on organising competitions and the regulations governing them
・Fan engagement, membership programme
・Sharing best practices and knowledge exchange regarding mid-term strategy, including digital transformation, sustainability, and corporate strategy
