The AFC Member Associations and Regional Associations Presidents’ and General Secretaries’ Conference 2026, organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), will be held in Tokyo over two days on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 October 2026. This will be the first time the Conference has been held in Japan.

More than 120 participants are expected to attend, including Presidents and General Secretaries of the AFC’s Member Associations and Regional Associations. Held annually since 2023, the Conference provides an opportunity to share knowledge and exchange views on the development of Asian football. Tokyo will host the fourth edition of the Conference this year.

As host, JFA will work closely with the AFC to welcome participants and, through the Conference, contribute to the further development of Asian football and greater interaction among Member Associations.

I am delighted that this important Conference, bringing together the Presidents and General Secretaries of the AFC’s Member Associations and Regional Associations, will be held in Japan for the first time. I am deeply grateful for the AFC’s trust in JFA as host, and it is a great honour to welcome members of the football family from across Asia to Tokyo.

For Asian football to establish an even stronger presence on the world stage, each country and region must continue to develop, but it is equally important that we share our experience and knowledge and work together to address common challenges. This Conference offers a valuable opportunity for the leaders of each association to meet in person, exchange views openly and discuss the future of Asian football together.

One of the pillars of JFA’s growth strategy is to “contribute to the development of international football and enhance our international presence”. We want to share the experience and knowledge Japan has built up over the years with the rest of Asia, while also learning from the work of other associations and drawing fresh inspiration from them. By moving forward together with our colleagues across Asia, we hope to demonstrate to the world the value and potential of Asian football as a whole.

We want the Conference in Tokyo to go beyond an exchange of views and lead to new relationships and concrete collaboration. By continuing to bring international conferences and competitions to Japan and creating more opportunities for members of the global football family to come together, JFA will continue to fulfil its role in connecting Japan and Asia with the wider world.
