As part of the Japan Football Association (JFA)’s commitment to supporting ‘JENESYS 2018’, a programme promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the JFA will carry out the ‘JENESYS 2018 Japan - Mekong Countries U-17 Youth Football Exchange Tournament’ from Friday 5 to Monday 8 October. The event will serve as an exchange platform for the youth in Japan and the Mekong countries. The tournament will take place in Futaba-gun, Fukushima prefecture. Eight teams, including the U-17 National Teams from five Mekong countries as well as the U-17 Japan National Team, U-17 Shonan Bellmare, and U-17 Shoshi High School from the hosting region, will participate in this championship. Participating teams will stay in Japan until Wednesday 10 October in order to observe and experience Japanese culture.

U-17 National Teams from five member associations of the Mekong Region (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam), U-17 Japan National Team, U-17 Shoshi High School, and U-17 Shonan Bellmare
Youth Tournament
・Each team should consist of male players under the age of 17.
・Eight teams will be divided in two groups of four teams in order to play a round-robin followed by play-offs to decide rankings.
・Each teams can have 20 players and five staff.
Note
Participating teams will stay in Japan after the tournament until Wednesday 10 October to observe and experience Japanese culture.
About the “JENESYS2018” Programme
The JENESYS 2018 is a project to promote personnel exchanges among Asian and Oceanian countries. It aims to promote mutual understanding and friendly relations, and to establish a diplomatic infrastructure through exchanging information abroad. JICE oversees the programme by accepting, dispatching, and exchanging leaders of the next generation.
