29 October 2015
The 12th All Japan Women's futsal tournament will be held in Kushiro, Hokkaido, between 6 and 8 November. With the tournament around the corner, we'll look back on the previous championship.
In the 11th championship, a total of 16 teams, which had qualified through local qualifying around the nation, competed. They were divided into four groups, with four teams for each, for the first round and then determined the standings in the following knock-out final round.
In Group A, Shoot Anilla (Kanto2/Kanagawa) and FC Alegrea Caminho (Kyushu2/Saga), both of whom had come up with consecutive wins, squared off in the third leg. But Shoot Anilla, who scored two goals in the first half, took the contest.
Arco Iris Kobe (Kansai/Hyogo), the champions of the 10th edition, were allocated in Group B. After Arco took their first match with a 3-0 win over Aventura Kawaguchi (Kanto4/Saitama), they kept showing consistent plays, and qualified through the first round winning all the three games.
In the first leg of Group C, Maruoka Ruck Ladies (Hokushinetsu/Fukui) and Veex Tokyo Ladies (Kanto3/Tokyo) had a headed battle. In the close game, Maruoka came through in the second half and posted a come-from-behind 2-1 win. They piled up points from their second game on and advanced to the final round.
In Group D, Bardral Urayasu Las Bonitas (Kanto1/Chiba) exhibited their ability in critical situations. Although they were forced to play a tough game against Colmillo (Hokkaido), Bardral edged the opponents 3-2 and clinched a final four berth.
In the semifinals, Shoot Anilla and Kobe, and Maruoka and Urayasu put up intense battles with the tickets for the championship game at stake. For Kobe, SEKINADA Minako and INO Misato scored two goals apiece and Arco Iris crushed Shoot Anilla 6-1. In the other match, TANAKA Haruka and KOBAYASHI Kokoro had goals as Maruoka advanced to the final with a 2-1 victory over Urayasu.
In the Kobe-Maruoka championship game, the game saw some actions from early. In the 3rd minute, Sekinada gave Kobe a lead, but TAKAO Akari equalled the game for Maruoka with her goal in the 16th minute.
In the second half, Kobe connected passed quickly and looked for scoring goals. Maruoka goalkeeper ASANO Itsuki made some great saves and Kobe had hard times to score, but in the 34th minute, they finally added a goal from a set play of WAKABAYASHI Eri. Now Kobe received a mental edge with the goal, and they came even more aggressively on their offence.
In the 40th minute, Ino scored the team's third goal to secure the win. An attacking-oriented Kobe, who had 65 shots, completed the consecutive championship.
