Participants enjoy moments at Nadeshiko Hiroba in Kitamoto
26 June 2015
The Okegawa queens girls football club hosted JFA Nadeshiko Hiroba in Kitamoto, Saitama Prefecture, on Saturday, 20 June. A total of 19 elementary school girls got together for it.
The first-time kids became friends with everybody else and frantically chased the ball at the large field. For the practice portion, they started with running and stretching. The bodies of the children are flexible, but it's still important for them to make them get into the habit.
After that, they had a passing practice, becoming a pair, and then were divided into the higher grades and lower grades and worked on different menus. The higher-grade children practiced 1-on-1 and 3-on-2 practices with the image of playing in a game, while the lower-grade players had shots from dribbling and 5-on-5 practices.
Then, they played a mini game and had a game in which the children's parents were involved to play against their own kids as well. The children-parents game is a menu that excites the participants every time. The Nadeshiko Hiroba ended in another success with a lot of smiles from them.

The Okegawa queens girls football club was originated because there was no football team for the elementary school girls around Okegawa and began our activities in July of 2013. We emphasize on the children's personality and independency, and set our goal to grow with the players and entire team, looking at the future rather than now. The JFA Nadeshiko Hiroba is one of the activities and we had a successful event this time again.
It was our 13th time to host it, and we feel that the girls football is surely expanding as we have seen our players and other participants have exchanged their friendship in the short time every time. In fact, some of them have later joined our club through the Nadeshiko Hiroba.
We are nowhere from being satisfied with the recognition levels of our team and Nadeshiko Hiroba, but we would like to keep hosting the Nadeshiko Hiroba and activate our club activities so it will activate the region around here and promote the female football.
Comments of the parents of the participants

My daughter joined this club based on her experience to participate in the last Nadeshiko Hiroba event. I think that so many children assemble at the Okegawa queens girls football club because it is a team that gives a cheerful mood and you can act so freely.
We are thankful that we have an opportunity to casually play the female football like in the Nadeshiko Hiroba, but I believe that so many people don't even know there's an opportunity like this. Hopefully, our head coach will increase the number of the events, not just once a month, so the children and their parents have more chances to get involved in the female game.
JFA Nadeshiko Hiroba
It is an occasion that any females, from the children to the girls, to the mothers and grandmothers, are able to casually enjoy the game of football. It is run by organizations and facilities that are approved by the JFA.
