Women's goalkeepers camp wrap up on AFC women's football day
09 March 2015
On a fine sunny day, the women's goalkeepers camp entered its final day. The Under-12 players worked on rolling down and angle plays while the Under-18 players went through jumping catches and how to deal with crossing as their themes of the day.
As the 8 March is the international women's day, the Asia Football Confederation (AFC) set the
date as the AFC women's football day, and the participating players got to work on their training putting on special bibs that were provided by the AFC in order to celebrate the day.
By the third day of the camp, the Under-12 players had gotten used to the atmosphere and were trying to actively get involved in the trainings and time off the pitch. Meanwhile, the Under-18 players challenged at a higher level of training than in their previous camp in January in these three days. They also showed growths off the pitch as they kindly instructed the Under-12 players and gave them advices at the hotel.

TODOROKI Natsuko, Goalkeepr Coach
This camp is the second time since it's become the ''women's goalkeepers camp,'' and we had three days of activities with a total of 10 players of the high school generation and another 10 of the sixth graders of the elementary school students. For the high school players, we aimed to raise the quality of what they've accumulated, while we had the sixth graders to understand and master the fundamentals as goalkeepers through trainings and meetings. Every player had a desire to improve, showing attitudes of actively working on things, so it was a contentful camp that we were able to feel the players' growth although it was just three days.
I think that the players could acknowledge their own achievements and issues, and by spending the times with other players of different generations, it was three days that they could find a lot of findings and leanings that were different from what they usually do. We would like to mining new talents and have better environmental improvements for the female goalkeepers while we continue to develop and strengthen the female goalkeepers through this goalkeepers camp for the women in the future. We would like to express our appreciation for those who have supported us.

KITSUKI Yui(Hinomoto Gakuen High School→JEF United Ichihara・Chiba Ladies)
Since when I came here as the youngest participant when I was a fifth grader, I've learned so much at this goalkeepers camp in the last eight years. I have been given so many clues that included the fundamental techniques, strategies, importance of sticking with winnings, sticking to details and the methods of self-evaluations, and I appreciate so much to the staff members. I am going to play in the Nadeshiko League from now on. Trying not to forget what I've learned I this goalkeepers camp, I would like to first play in games, and eventually be a player who can compete at international stages, and I want to make any possible efforts to achieve those. Also, I want to be a player whom can make players who are coming in this camp later want to model after me.
SUZUKI Ayaka(Thespa Kusatsu Gunma)
I was very nervous because I've participated in this camp for the first time, but everybody, both the high school students and elementary school students, have been friendly to me. As for the practices, many of the things were that I couldn't do at my own team, but they were worth doing and were fun. I could learn so many different things from the high school players through this camp. I hope to bring what I learned in this camp back to my team and practice a lot to be a better player.
BABA Hinano(RECCOS Suzuka)
What I learned through these three days were fundamental postures, catching, stepping, throwing and kicking. When I was working on those, the coaches told me some habits that I didn't notice myself. And then as I got to work being conscious about those, I was able to do them properly and I was happy. I was pleased to have made a lot of friends through this camp. I want to bring back what I learned in this camp at my own team. I thought that it was really worth coming to this camp.
MURAKAMI Kaede(Kushiro SSM)
These three days have been fun that I could play football with those who came from different prefectures. I was nervous at first, but the high school people and those who were in the same school grade as me were kind and it eased my tension quickly. There were so many other players who were better and compared with them I thought I still had a long way to go and was inspired by them a lot. It was great that I was able to learn what I'd not known through this camp. I thought that I wanted to join in this camp again. And I thought that I wanted to keep it up back at my team.
