National Training Centre U-14 first half report (Central Japan)
24 May 2014
The second day report of the National Training Centre U-14 first half is from the central Japan. 70 players of the central Japan are now in the National Training Centre at “Wakura Spa Multi-purpose Ground” along the coast and near the Wakura Onsen train station. The camp saw its second day, but it seemed that the players almost had broken ice among them. They practiced intensely both in the morning and afternoon under the tough and enthusiastic supervision of coaches. During the evening meeting, Coach Ikeuchi lectured on the practice of the next day, and Coach Kimura, who is also a coach for the U-16 national team, talked about his experience of the last U-17 World Cup. Every player was getting ready for tomorrow both mentally and physically.

The National Training Centre U-14 of Central Japan finished the second day, and we have been doing fine with no major injuries. I think players are changing in a good way because of many different inspirations they get from interacting with players coming here from other teams and coaches they don’t normally see. I want them to cherish the time they have for the rest of this term and to grow both as a player and as a person.

It’s just the second day, but I have been already surprised that players are actually changing in these two days as they practice with other talented players in the central region. I have been reminded that it’s very important for players to get used to thinking, making judgments, and taking actions and to keep doing all those things. We have two more days, but I would like to keep getting inspired by wonderful players, staff members and this atmosphere, grow together with the players and try to give it back to communities.
KAWAMOTO Riyo(U-13)
In this National Training Centre camp, I learned that I need to think, act, and keep doing them “anytime” and “anywhere” to make my dream come true. I worked on my practice on the first day with what coaches and staff taught us always on my mind. But I had never seen all these people before, so I couldn’t communicate with them very well. Because of that, I couldn’t play my style and I couldn’t play together with my teammates very well. But during the meeting after dinner, Coach Ikeuchi taught us that we “need to speak up our own opinions.” After I listened to him saying that, I could speak up when I did my self-introduction. Then the first day finished and the second day had the practice very early in the morning. On the second day, as I played, I kept looking back what we did on the first day. Today I could communicate with my teammates very well and could make good plays together with them. I will remember what I learned in this camp and work hard to be an independent player and selected to the national team.
TOJO Masaya(U-14)
I am participating in this National Training Centre Central Japan and what I want to do here is to keep talking on the pitch and not to lose the ball easily. In order to do that, it’s important to communicate with people. Not just talking but I also want to keep talking loud enough and giving clear directions to my teammates. In order not to lose the ball easily, I will look around even before I receive a pass and keep the ball away from the defender.
I will keep trying many things. In the future, I want to be a player who can inspire many people to dream.
