For implementing measures (setting up regional base) announced in “The JFA Declaration 2005”, JFA Academy plays a role of setting up regional football base for Regional Football Associations, training centre activities and centre for assisting development of kids and promoting football. JFA Academy Kumamoto has engaged in activity letting participants back to their home on weekends. This report gives an introduction to “U-13 Gathering of JFA Academy Kumamoto Uki”, the activity taken place on the occasion of summer vacation.

The gathering was periodically organized, inviting club teams to which first grade student at JFA Academy Kumamoto belongs, to promote networking among players and coaches. Seven teams participated in this program this year. Warming-up exercise which is promoted by JFA Academy was introduced and the coaches had a chance to experience this program. I would hope every team expands networking and understand activity of JFA Academy upon this gathering event.

I found the interleague games featured something very instructive for a coach as well. I really appreciate the team had an opportunity to experience various things including ‘training match’, ‘coaching the coach event’ and ‘training camp at the Academy’. As this kind of event gave us stimulation we can’t get in our own team or playing only in local areas, I would request to continually hold the gathering event periodically with more teams participating in.

It was very exciting for us to take part in this event and have communication with other teams for exchanging information. Not limiting just for this event, I want to keep close contact among participating teams. The players had a chance to experience what the living at JFA Academy is like. I would hope they can take advantage of the experience in not only football but daily life.
