Coach's and Players' Comments
NAGIRA Masayuki, Head Coach
This camp was aimed at strengthening the team ahead of the coming 29th Summer Universiade 2017 Taipei. The camp was sponsored by Yamaha Motor Taiwan with support from the Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA). I would like to express my gratitude to all the people who supported our camp. We will be playing our opening match of the Universiade tournament on Friday 18 August. The expectation for the team from the local people is quite high as the tournament is organized in their home country. Therefore, we were looking for an environment where we can focus on our training and decided to hold a training camp in Japan. We were able to have a productive camp where the opponents for the training matches, practice facilities, dining, and other services were all excellent. It is certainly important for us to attain good results in the tournament, but our concern should not only be about winning. We hope that the people in Chinese Taipei will take an interest in football by watching our game. We will do our best to play a beautiful game for our spectators.
CHU FANG-YI, Player
This is our fourth straight year to hold a training camp at Gotemba Tokinosumika. The training pitches, dining rooms, Japanese Onsen, pools, accommodation site, and other training facilities are all located in one area. I found it suitable for football practice as well as being an excellent training site for the players. Furthermore, there are goals with varying sizes, and this allows us to have different types of training.
Every training match was a challenge for me. The opponents that we have faced during this camp played differently compared to the teams in Chinese Taipei, and it was an excellent learning experience for us. I was also very excited to watch the J.League match. Various facilities inside the J.League stadium, supporters, and the pitch were very interesting. I really enjoyed the camp. I would like to thank the CTFA, JFA, Yamaha Motor Taiwan and all the staff who supported this wonderful training camp.
TSOU HSIN-NI, Player
We were able to hold the camp in an excellent environment due to the support from Yamaha Motor Taiwan. We would like to thank the staff of Tokinosumika Sports Center for providing us the training ground as well as the dining services. We learned a lot from playing the training matches against the Japanese teams. Furthermore, watching the J.League match and visiting various facilities inside the stadium were an excellent experience for myself. Lastly, I would like to thank all the people who supported our training camp.
LIU CHIEN-YUN, Player
I would like thank the staff of Tokinosumika Sports Center for providing us with a wonderful training environment including delicious dining services and excellent training grounds. We learned a lot from both training and practice matches. In the matches against the Japanese teams, we learned about their football techniques and their tactical understanding of the game in addition to how they manage the game. I am looking to use all the experience that I have gained through this camp in the upcoming matches once I return back to Chinese Taipei.
