HANITA Atsushi, Goalkeeper Coach of the Bhutan National Team
Last year, the Bhutan National Team advanced to the second round of Asian qualifiers of the FIFA World Cup for the very first time, moving out of the last place in the FIFA World Rankings. (They are currently in 189th place.) Although it was only for a short time, I joined the team in the matches against Hong Kong and China PR and directly felt the Bhutanese people’s growing interest and expectations for their national team.

It is an honor for me to have the opportunity to support the team again. Collaborating with the Technical Director Mr. Chokey NIMA, I will work hard on improving the level of both the men’s and women’s national teams as a goalkeeper coach, while nurturing an academy team, expanding grassroot activities, developing goalkeeper coaches, and also establishing coaching structures. I will give my best efforts to aid the development of Bhutanese football.
