U-17 Japan Women’s National Team visit Supplementary Japanese School in Jordan

On the fifth day after arriving in Jordan, the U-17 Japan Women’s National Team had training in the warm weather of temperature at 28 degrees Celsius on 26 September. The members who had played the friendly match yesterday underwent a recovery session, while others went through the regular training schedule.

In the afternoon, the team visited the Supplementary Japanese School in Jordan. During the visit, four teams were constructed to play a mini-game and penalty shoot-outs with goalkeeper coach KOBAYASHI Shinobu. In a joyous atmosphere, participating children were smiling throughout this exchange meeting.

Furthermore, Mr. SAKURAI Shuichi, the ambassador of Japan to Jordan, also came to encourage the players, and they pulled themselves together and focused on the tournament ahead of them.

The U-17 Japan Women’s National Team will continue their training in preparation for their first match of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016 on Saturday 1 October.

Players' Comments

GK #18 MIZUGUCHI Mayu (YAMATO SYLPHID U-18)
In the morning, I was guarding the goal during shooting practice, but I allowed many goals because I could not get the timing right. As the goalkeeper, of course, it is important to be focused on the play, but also we need to be alert when we are away from the play. In the proceeding training session, I need to work on the details including my stance, while improving the quality of each play.

In the afternoon, we visited the Supplementary Japanese School. I got refreshed both physically and mentally, while playing mini-games with the children. In the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016, I would like to contribute to the team by keeping a clean sheet. This is our chance of winning consecutive titles. I would like to work hard every day and make the best preparation possible.

MF #20 KITAMURA Nanami (CEREZO OSAKA SAKAI Ladies)
Four days have already passed since the arrival of Jordan, and I am getting used to the environment here. Today, our training was centred around shooting practice. Since there were many occasions where I could not score in one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper, I would like to improve the accuracy of my shots, not only during the shooting exercises, but also in game-format training. I am glad that we were able to visit the Supplementary Japanese School. Since we have only a limit time until the first match, I would like to get the most of out of each practice session.
