U-16 Japan Women’s National Team training for the match against DPR Korea in AFC U-16 Women’s Championship China 2015
09 November 2015
On 8 November, U-16 Japan Women’s National Team had a training session preparing for the third match of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship China 2015 which is against DPR Korea.
In the morning the team had a meeting at their accommodation to review the previous day’s match against Chinese Taipei. After sharing their good plays and issues amongst the players, they headed to the training sessions in the afternoon.
All players started the afternoon training with a 10-minuite running session. They then spent another 90 minutes training for the match tomorrow with some agility sessions including small step-work practice and side attacks.
The match against DPR Korea will kick off 3pm (4pm Japan time) on 9 November. Japan wants to get through the group stage as the top team.
Players' Comments
TANAKA Momoko (Nippon TV Menina)
Today, we practiced combination shots and some approaches for crosses to get ready for the match against DPR Korea. The match tomorrow will be the one which requires more concentration than the previous matches. We want to prepare well to head to the match in the best condition.
YONEI Honoka (JFA Academy Fukushima)
In the morning meeting, we had time to analyse characteristics of DPR Korea. In the afternoon, we had practical sessions to utilise near-zone and to respond to long balls. I think we could prepare by simulating what will happen tomorrow, so we want to make the most of what we did today in the match, raising voices to each other on the pitch. We definitely want to win tomorrow.
