U-15 Japan short-listed squad begin training camp

U-15 Japan short-listed squad began training in Chiba. The immediate goal for U-15 Japan short-listed squad is to earn “FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017” berth after winning the AFC U-16 Championship 2016 qualifier in September and its final scheduled in next year. New players of first call-up will be the key members this time for U-15 Japan national team called “2000 Japan.”

“Please don’t afraid of making mistake. This is short training camp but try to showcase what you good at focusing on every play.” said KIMURA Kokichi, Team Director of Youth Development, at the meeting held in the beginning.

They worked on triangle pass, 3-on-2, etc. on the first day of the training. Head coach MORIYAMA Yoshiro offered an advice to the squad as he stopping the plays occasionally, the quality of the play both on-the-ball, off-the-ball, the importance of angle, distance, timing when you support the other player. Some players who seemed nervous in the beginning started to call the other player and play aggressively with physically tough-minded in the training of 7-on-7.

At the night meeting, doctor IKEGAWA Naoshi presented how you should take nutrition in the meal and tips for doping. He wrapped up the meeting by showing the video of the their first overseas trip to Indonesia, showing what is good and what needs to improve for sharing the image for tomorrow’s training.

Players’ Comments

TOJYO Masaya (Aomori Yamada High School)
I am glad to be called up for the first time. I could not demonstrate my strong point because of lack of communication with team members in the training. As a team, there were quite a few plays which were not aggressive enough and few voices among the team. Playing with players of high level, we should show fighting spirit and I want to be the one to lead the team. I want to demonstrate the team’s goal of “Playing with fighting spirit” tomorrow.

EGAWA Genki (Kyoto Sanga F.C. U-15)
I had been disappointed when my teammate was picked up for U-15 national team, I am very pleased to be called up this time. But as I was nervous and making few communication, I could not call other members as with the team as a whole. My strong point is to lead the team and I want to talk to the team members no matter if it is on or off the training. I learned something I need to improve, in other words, the intensity of 1-on-1 and fighting for a ball when I watched video of Indonesia trip at the night meeting. I want to implement what I learned today.
