Head Coach Mochizuki’s Comment
I am grateful, proud and honored to take up head coach role for challenging long-standing Universiade with cheerful and energetic squad and staff. The goal is to win the competition. I know it is going to be hard but it is not unrealistic goal rather appropriate one.
This team’s mission is to make a contribution to spread and growth of women’s football and Japan sport by Japan Women’s Unversiade team playing a good game and win the competition. I hope we can give dream, courage, hope to the kids by showing the squad playing hard with never-give-up attitude for reaching the goal for their colleagues. I want to deliver sensation to people in Japan.
We have to turn ourselves into the high-caliber “learning organization” for winning the competition. Every player should be able to make a judgement by themselves regardless of football or anything other than that, it is called self-determination power. They should take pro-active attitude and actions when working on something and have one’s own vision and value. This would be the key factors to become real champion by transforming us to “ever-advancing organization” from “learning organization.”
We have focused on fostering the players who will be competitive in the international arena. We put an emphasis on offering chances for implementing pro-active thinking, speaking, acting, not in reactive way, when doing things.
I would hope to raise quality of the squad and staff before the competition as much as possible. I am determined to make it the fruitful competition and come back to Japan with a big smile.
