DF 15 TAKAI Kota

A 19-year-old who competed in the FIFA U-20 World Cup last year.
He will be the first teenager to compete in the Olympics since YOSHIDA Maya and KAGAWA Shinji, who both participated in Beijing 2008. He is of course the youngest player of this year's team.
He has been demonstrating remarkable proficiency for his club, Kawasaki Frontale. He showcased exemplary performance at centre-back at the AFC U23 Asian Cup, following NISHIO Ryuya's dismissal in the opening match and subsequent suspension for three matches.
He is able to initiate the team's attack with his long passes and is also 192 cm tall, which gives him an advantage in aerial battles.
