U-19 Japan Women’s National Team had practical training before their 1st match
17 August 2015
U-19 Japan Women’s National Team had a intrasquad game in their training in the morning of 16 August, 2 days before the first match of the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship 2015 in China.
In the afternoon, the players were divided into 3 groups and had an ice-breaking session which included necessary trainings and stretching exercises. In a competitive training session that the players aimed at a flag on the pitch, they joined the activities very positively even after the practice match earlier in the day.
Players' Comments
DF #7 MIYAGAWA Asato (Nippon TV Menina)
It is my second time to play in China. My first was at the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship. I’m bit nervous since the level of opponents are higher than before. Whichever position I will play, I want to play positively with patient attitude.
MF #12 NISHIDA Meika (Cerezo Osaka Sakai Ladies)
In the championship, I want to take advantage of my speed such as making middle-shots. I will have to clarify where I want to get the ball and to make a good teamwork adjusting myself to the other teammates.
I had a strong motivation to win the championship in my previous experience at the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship. I want to get the victory this time and I am excited. However, I feel a bit different from how I was feeling last time since there is a bigger physical gap between the opponents and ourselves.
FW #11 SEIKE Kiko (Urawa Reds Ladies)
For the competition, I want to improve the accuracies of post-play, traps, and passing. In the up-coming matches, I want to score making most of my speed and physical fitness. I have been calmer after arriving in China, so I just want to keep this calmness in the competition matches.
