Players' Comments

MIYOSHI Koji (Kawasaki Frontale)
It was the second day since we got together and we had a friendly. So I started the game focusing on sharing our aim in defence. We won the game and scored in many ways, which was brilliant. In terms of conceding goals, as my mistake was involved and there was some room for improvement both individually and as a team, I’d like to fix our problems as soon as possible and get ready to win tomorrow’s game.

KUNIMOTO Takahiro (Avispa Fukuoka)
We focused on our defence in the morning practice session. Although I wasn’t sure, as defence was not my strongest point, I started to understand. As a forward, I need to defend from the front line. So I’d like to enhance my awareness of defence a bit more. In the afternoon, we had a friendly against Verspah OITA. I was on the pitch, bearing in mind running into the space behind the opponent and taking care of the timing for receiving the ball. I think I played well, as some of the timing was excellent. In terms of the defence, sometimes I could do it, but I could have done more. I’d like to improve that.

MASUYAMA Asahi (Vissel Kobe)
I joined the practice session and played the match today, focusing on defence. As I could have done better or could have been closer to the opponent, I’d like to improve those areas. I’d like to play in a smaller space than I usually do in games, not looking after too wide an area, just like the head coach requested of me. When I got into a good position, I could intercept the ball and start the attack swiftly. Although I could finish with a shot, not being able to score a goal was another task to be improved. I’d like to be able to score even with limited opportunities.

MORISHITA Ryoya (Jubilo Iwata U-18)
I played today’s match, bearing in mind the ‘build-up, delivery, breakthrough, and finish’ from yesterday’s theme and the defence tactics, which we went through in today’s meeting. As we still have three days to go during this camp, I’d like to show off my strength as much as possible in the team. It’s my first time to join the team. I’d like to communicate a lot within the limited time, in order to make the most of the camp.

OKANO Jun (JEF United Chiba U-18)
I’m really pleased to be selected for the U-18 Japan National squad for the first time. As I haven’t fully understood the team’s tactics, I’d like to learn more through games, practice sessions and meetings. I’d like to show off my character and strength, after understanding the team’s tactics. I’d also like to learn a lot and see my current level during this activity, so that I can play professionally in the future.
