U-16 Japan National Team Coach MORIYAMA Yoshiro’s Comment
Now that we know who we are facing, we are very excited. From my experience coaching in the same tournament two years ago, I know that every team will display their character, and every match will be a challenge for us. Ahead of this tournament, the U-16 Japan National Team will enter the U-16 International Dream Cup in June, followed by a tour to Costa Rica in August. Our key to success relies on how much experience we can gain from these matches, as well as the individual growth we can obtain through the course. Our team concept is to utilise the individual and team strengths to the fullest, and to showcase a dynamic style of football. This tournament serves as the qualifier for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru, so we must earn ourselves a good result. We appreciate all the support towards the team.
