Japan Futsal National Team shortlisted squad training camp report (9/30)

01 October 2015

Japan Futsal National Team shortlisted squad training camp report (9/30)

The team held the last practice session of the training camp, and played some games. They shared the team’s tactics once again while they were focusing on “avoiding pressure” and “moving the length of the pitch quickly”, both of which they have been practicing until yesterday.

The coach Miguel occasionally stopped proceedings to instruct the players, and check set pieces. There are numerous variations of set pieces in futsal, which can be very effective in attack to catch the opponent off-guard, depending on the time of the game or the condition of the opponent’s defence.

Three players were hastily substituted during this camp and the players became more competitive prior to the AFC Futsal Championship in coming February. They shared the team’s tactics, at the request of the coach, and held a very productive training camp.

Players' Comments

SATO Toru (SHRIKER OSAKA)
No one picked up any injuries during the three-day training camp, and we stayed highly motivated with a good competitive atmosphere. We found and fixed some of our problems in the matches against Vietnam and Malaysia, which gave us a good opportunity to check the team’s tactics again and boost our in-depth communication, in order to improve ourselves as a united team.

As we only have a limited time to prepare before the AFC Futsal Championship early next year, or the following World Cup, all the players share the same energy to make each training session very productive. Personally, I strongly feel that I need to improve myself in order to contribute to Japan’s victory in international matches, not to mention to stay in the national team. So I’d like to practice hard with high spirits to achieve our aim, and contribute to my club team’s victories as well as get good results. I think that’s the only way to make myself more competitive. I’ll try my hardest without fail.

NISHITANI Ryosuke (FUGADOR SUMIDA)
We just finished our three-day training camp. We started to check our tactics from the second day, and really concentrated on each session. I’ll continue practicing hard everyday to improve myself even more, fixing the problem we found this time, prior to the AFC Futsal Championship.

KATO Ryuma (BARDRAL URAYASU)
We checked the team’s tactics and set pieces again while playing games in the training session. The main achievement of this three-day camp is that we took our ‘game heads’ to the next level as well as taking the quality from the “Japanese standard” to the “international standard”. I’d like to continue to show off my strength aggressively and play hard, communicating well with my teammates.
