02 September 2015
Cambodia National Team arrived in Japan in the morning of Wednesday 1 September ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Asian Qualifiers Round 2, combined with the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 Qualifiers, to be held on Thursday 3 at Saitama Stadium 2002.
The Cambodian Ambassador to Japan welcomed the team at the airport and had a commemorative photo session with them in a friendly mood.
The squad relieved their fatigue at hotel with Cambodia cuisine served by the ambassador himself before working on the first training in Japan in heavy rain in the evening.
Coach and Players' Comments
LEE Tae Hoon, Coach
Japan are better than Cambodia of course, but the upcoming match will be very good experience for the Cambodia National Team. It's going to be an opportunity for Cambodian players to learn a lot from Japan.
In the match on 3rd, we will keep the defence strong and keep concentration to fend off Japan's attacks. Once getting the ball, we will go on attacking. I want my players to play bravely.
KHUON Laboravy
I'm very happy to come here in Japan. Climate is cool, and my impression on Japan is the country is developed most characterised by technology and electrics. The upcoming match is going to be a very good experience for myself and for the national team because we can play against one of the best teams in Asia including many world stars. It would become big confidence for us, and we will go all out for it.
KOUCH Sokumpheak
Japan is very beautiful. It seems everything is tidy. I love Japan so much. I will do my best in the match and play it with confidence. Of course, it is a fact Japan are the top team in Asia, but we will battle it out without giving up.
