Japan U-18 team had the last day of its training camp (28 March)

29 March 2015

Japan U-18 team had the last day of its training camp (28 March)

On the last day of the training camp on 18 March, the players had a practice match. Prior to the match, they had a meeting and Mr. UCHIYAMA, the Head Coach of the team emphasized what they have done throughout the training.

In the practice training, both teams played very powerfully and didn’t lose the ball easily to each other, expressing what they learned from the training camp. It might be due to the positive effect from them watching the Japanese National Team’s match on the previous day; the players were aggressive to get the ball and communicated very well amongst each other. At the end of the match, one team got the equaliser and it finished 2-2. The 5 days of training camp was wrapped up on a very positive mood.

Comments

KISHIMOTO Takeru (Cerezo Osaka U-18)
In the 1st half of the match, I couldn’t have a good combination with the other FW player since we had too much distance between ourselves, but gradually we could correct it by one of us jumping out and the other moving to receive the ball and we could make the ball move around better in the middle in the 2nd half. This time, we had a good chance to learn a lot by watching the match of Japan National Team. I will keep working hard in my local team.

NAGANUMA Yoichi (Sanfrecce Hiroshima Youth)
What was important throughout this training camp and training matches for us was to share what we want to do and what we should do amongst each other. There are first-time players and also experienced squad players in this camp and I think we all could share them very well. We had a chance to watch the match of Japan National Team vs. Tunisia National Team. We will keep working very hard to play on that pitch some day as national squad players.

FUJITANI So (Vissel Kobe U-18)
In this camp I could understand more about the team’s strategy especially in making both offense and defense combinations. I could play well in the practice match paying good attention to what I have learned at this camp. However, we still make lot of easy mistakes so we will improve ourselves in every camp occasion to achieve “mistake-less football” as a team.

NAKAYAMA Yuta (Kashiwa Reysol)
I spent a very productive 5 days at this training camp. We all appreciated what we want to do as a team and achieved it gradually toward the end of the camp. However, we know that there isn’t “perfection”, we just want to improve ourselves more and more. As a player, I have a lot of issues so I want to take time to improve on them one by one. We don’t have much time before the qualifying stage of the AFC U-19 Championships, but I just want to make effort to be a better player in my every-day trainings.

SASAKI Takumi (Vegalta Sendai Youth)
It was such a limited time, but I could spend positive time communicating with other players as much as possible. It was a chance for me to find many challenges that I need to face. In the matches against professional players, I made more easy mistakes and had to get many counter attacks. I think this was caused not only by lack of my skill but also by me not being able to get good positioning. I think I need to be more flexible and that is what I will pay more attention in my daily trainings. We have limited time before the qualifying stage of the AFC U-19 Championships, but I just want to grow up to contribute more to the team.
