U-16 Japan National Team Report – Thailand Trip (7 July)
08 July 2014
U-16 Japan National Team visited Bangkok, Thailand for preparation for AFC U-16 Championship Thailand 2014 scheduled in September.
Arriving at hotel in Bangkok city early in the morning, the squad checked in and had a breakfast before going to first training.
They went through the training menu of first day for adjusting their body conditioning to high temperature and humidity which was instructed by Namiki Athletic Trainer.
When riding on the bus, the squad encountered the happening of the bus going out of order for malfunctioning of suspension but it was fixed and resumed running after 20 minutes thanks to the driver’s prompt fixing work. The unexpected accident like this and other experience would help them keep their cool in the championship.
The traffic jam in Bangkok city is t and it will also give them a good experience. The squad will be aggressively working on the training to get many things out of the rest of the program.
There will be training tomorrow at Rajamangala Stadium for getting ready for upcoming matches scheduled to start on 9th with an interval of one day.
*98JAPAN is nickname for U-16 Japan National Team, aiming to participate in FIFA U-17 World Cup 2015 in Chile.

YOSHITAKE Hirofumi,Head Coach
Arriving early morning in Bangkok then taking breakfast, we managed to use today effectively by holding two sets of training in the morning and in the afternoon. Adding three new players to the squad, a total number of player called to national team training reached 130 during last 1 year and three months of activities. This trip presents opportunity to know what it looks like in AFC U-16 Championship Thailand 201 and will be a good simulation trip for getting together all the selected players born in or after 98. Luckily we are staying at the hotel might be used during the championship and hold training and game in the same stadium to be used in the championship.
TSURUTA Kaito(Vissel Kobe U-18)
I just finished the training of first day in Thailand trip. I felt I should not just looking the players around me but also looking wide for the players away from me and have to increase the options of next play. I am going to work hard and continue to overcome these points in the training from tomorrow.
ABE Masashi(Seiryo High School)
Visiting Thailand characterized by high temperature and humidity, I realized the importance of taking water supplement and sweating in preparation for AFC U-16 Championship. Bearing the things I was warned previously in my mind and not repeating the same mistake, I want to develop ourselves as an entire team.
SHIMOGUCHI Wakaba(JFA Academy Fukushima)
The training in Bangkok, Thailand, just begun for preparing the AFC U-16 Championship. In today’s training, I took part in the training realizing the importance of sweating for getting used to the environment in Thailand.
