Colombia Futsal National Team has arrived in Japan for the International Friendlies against Japan Futsal National Team. The matches are held on 25th and 27th January in Tokyo and on 30th in Osaka. Even though they arrived safely, the players looked tired after the long journey to Narita Airport. After arrival at their hotel, they took some rest without having any training sessions and then visited the National Yoyogi Stadium First Gymnasium in Tokyo where their first match will take place.

Osmar FONNEGRA, Coach
This is my first visit to Japan. It is always good for the team to visit a totally different country in culture and have the match against the team from the country; we can gain good experience and memories. Japan’s Coach Miguel RODRIGO is one with a lot of experience and I also know him well personally. I also know that Japan has a lot of wonderful players, so it will be challenging for us. These Friendlies against Japan mean a lot not only for me but to the players as well in terms of selecting the squad players for the World Cup. I would like to show the Japanese audience our skillful and spectacular play during the coming matches.

This is my first visit to Japan and it is very different from how our country is; it’s clean and tidy. I have watched the Japan National Futsal Team play against Brazil in the FIFA Futsal World Cup Thailand 2012 and what I felt at that time was that Japan had many skilful players. We have 2 matches against them in this coming week, so I want to get ready well for them to show great play and wonderful matches to Japanese people.

I expect the Japan Futsal National Team to be very strong team in every way considering their outstanding coach from Spain. I also know HENMI Katsutoshi Rafael; the matches will be very challenging for us. The coming 2 matches are not official ones but friendlies, however it is a good opportunity for us to see how much we are ready as a team for the World Cup. Colombian futsal is speedy and skilful, and we tend to like 1 –on- 1 situation. I’m sure that it will be a lot of fun for futsal fans in Japan.
