Match Report

Futsal Japan National Team played their last away training match in Italy on 11 October. An opponent was the team in Pescara where Japan had its base camp of beginning Italy trip. As this camp was successfully on track thanks to supports from Pescara including providing a training place, the team all went into the match to return assistances they were given.

Japan broke the deadlock in the middle of the first half with a skilled opening goal by INABA Kotaro. Following the first goal, WATANABE Tomoaki connected with a KATO Ryoma’s pass like a shot around the goal and Japan doubled the lead before the second half.

Although Japan tried to seize a control of the game with this advantage, Pescara intensified pressure, coming from behind with 3 goals for first 3 minutes of the second half. However, in the 33th minute, Morimoto broke down the opponent in 1-on-1 from the left wing into the center filed to score an equalizer that earned Japan a 3-3 draw. The game ended in a tie as neither team scored after this.

Japan completed all scheduled training matches during this Italy trip with 2 victories, 3 defeats and a tie of 6 games.
Futsal Japan National Team will take part in the Intercontinental Cup held in Kuwait from 23 October, followed by international friendly matches in December in Tokyo (18th) and Kobe (20th).

Comments

MORIOKA Kaoru (Nagoya Oceans)
We finished all 6 away training matches in Italy today. We could end this trip with satisfying results, even though failing to have more wins than losses. I could learn a lot personally and get inspired greatly as I realized I need to practice more. I will try to make good use of experiences in this trip for raising my level and bring better results for myself and the team.

WATANABE Tomoaki (Nagoya Oceans)
We could not keep our advantage of 2 points scored in the first half and conceded the opponent’s come-from-behind. However, as we didn’t allow them extend their lead any more, this draw would be meaningful for us. I thought we could take advantages of lessons from 3 lost games in the last match. This Italy trip was also very meaningful and I had good experiences. Different from strategic well-passing futsal by Spanish Club Team which we play against every year, I have sensed futsal that make utmost use of physical strength as well as individual skills. In this point, I could learn how to handle those plays to gain victory.

I believe we will take advantage of this experience to play better in future international matches against the country focusing on individual skills. Of course, we need to make great efforts to improve several points as well as make sure not to lose points due to avoidable misplays. We will and have to utilize experiences getting from this trip necessarily. I will keep possessing the sense I got during this camp and try to work hard for boosting our level after returning each belonged teams.

TAKITA Manabu (ASV Pescadola Machida)
In Italy tour, I tried to improve my skills as well as solving group’s action items. There were things I could do as usual and did better than usual, actually I learned new thing in this trip but I must admit I couldn’t deliver what I was expected to do. I realize some reasons for them but I am going to review them and make it opportunity to develop。

YOSHIKAWA Tomoaki (Nagoya Oceans)
We couldn’t win the today’s game again. It was first time for me to be a captain but I am really sorry about drawing the game. With leading 2-0 in first half and we conceded three goals in second half. This is something we have to improve. I am sure we had a very good experience in Italy tour. I want to make most of what I learned during the trip and develop my self more than ever.
