Japan futsal national team Spain tour report (5th April) Team watches Spanish futsal league game

We had a walk-through in the morning, trying to prepare ourselves for the Azkar Lugo game on the 6th April. After having a warm-up, we confirmed our possession game with four field players and then our pressing through some mini games. We spent quite shot time, but our players had high concentration level and listened to coach Miguel with serious looks. After the session, we went out to the beach near our facilities and enjoyed the scenery that is said to be one of the best in Europe, though it was just a little time.

Following our lunch break, since we were invited by them, we all went out to watch a league match between Burela and Jaen. It's not a big town, but we got to feel the genuine futsal culture through the enthusiastic cheering by their supporters.
At the restaurant we had the lunch, there were so many of supporters who were wearing the orange, which is the color for Burela, and they welcomed us wholeheartedly.

We will get to play the remaining three games. In all the three, we'll have to take on tough opponents, who all are division one clubs, but we will look for the best outcomes we could have.

Players' Comments

Takita Manabu(Pescadola Machida)
We had a chance to watch a Spanish first-division game today. That reminded me of the first-ever game I watched in Spain three years ago. At that time, I was simply overwhelmed by their high level of the game and speed in the Spanish league, but the impression was so much different this time. Of course, the match-up was different from that time, but I felt that I've made growth as a national team player by observing the game this time. What I mean by that is that I was able to watch that, thinking that it's not necessarily in the level that we could not reach, it's not just the league that we can do nothing but look up to. It was a game that I could see being a man playing the same game. So I feel like I've improved myself both physically and mentally and gained so much confidence now. Yet the better teams in the Spanish league belong to a different category. It's not necessarily my ultimate goal where I want to get to, but as far as we are given these opportunities on this tour, I would certainly like to learn as many things as I can before we return to the home.

Kawahara Hisamitsu(Nagoya Oceans)
We went through a light training and then went out to the beach to see the sand hills that are said to have the second-best scenery in Spain, which was something you cannot see in Japan and relieved us. Actually, that place also made me want to do fishing a little bit, which is my hobby. We have five more days on this Spanish tour. We feel like we have tuned up well toward the Asian Championships, and hopefully we will get to show some of it in our upcoming games starting tomorrow.

Inaba Kotaro(Bardral Urayasu)
We were a little tired through the games, practices and long-hour transportations, but after the practice, we went out to the beach, which only appears when it's at low tide and was an extraordinary place, and got to be able to refresh ourselves. And then we watched a Spanish league game. As much as I was impressed by the plays on the court, I was impressed by the fanatic supporters and their cheering. During our practice in the morning, we mainly worked on our possession game and I think we all had high concentrations. During our practices, each of us tries to share his experience and what he thinks, we try to be on the same page all the time and try to be more of a team taking advantage of the strengths of each member. It's been 10 days since we arrived in Spain and we feel like we've been able to play more as a team, but we still need to elaborate on that and be stronger. We have got three more games to play in Spain. First and foremost, we will have to play all out, otherwise we will not spot out issues and advantages, so we will just want to do our best we can. And we would like to play for Kaoru, who had to go back to the country due to injuries. As we get to enter the second half of this tour, I personally want to spend every day to be a part of the team that tries to win in the Asian Championships.
