Japan Beach Soccer National Team work up a sweat in game-situation training

Japan Beach Soccer National Team work up a sweat in game-situation training

The Japan Beach Soccer National Team had two-a-day training in the morning and afternoon on Thursday 15 September in Akashi, Hyogo in the run-up to upcoming international friendlies.

The morning session started with shooting drills in various patterns. Then, they were put through corner kick training for more than 30 minutes to check up combination and team rules. In a 5-on-5 game at the end, they tried out offensive, defensive and set-play tactics that they have trained.

In the afternoon, the squad spent an hour and a half for a 5-on-5 scrimmage after warm-up. The Japan coach made frequent player changes and let the players review their tactics in attempt to make the competition among the team more intense.

Also the completion of bleachers and sponsor signage at the match venue helped an atmosphere of the international friendly more evident.

Japan will have an official training session on Friday 16 September at 13:00 to be prepared for their first match kicking off on Saturday 17 at 13:00.

Players' Comments

FP #16  SATO Eisuke (Tokyo Lequios BS)
In the past two days, we had plenty of training and went over tactics and details mainly in an intra-squad game. There is still an official training session to be held tomorrow. We will be prepared and go out with a strong determination for the weekend friendly against Tahiti.

FP #9  AKAGUMA Takuya (Dorsole Kitakyushu)
In the morning today, I felt our set-piece accuracy was improving. But I need to be more tenacious at the phase of finishing. In the afternoon game, I was able to play with good understanding on offensive and defensive tactics for the Tahiti match. We adjusted our game by communicating with and praising each other within the team. We've been put through training in a good atmosphere. We will get good results in the Tahiti match and hopefully take our momentum to the Asian Beach Games. Individually, I will work hard on tomorrow's training to contribute to our team's win with my goal and get ready for the Tahiti match this weekend.
