Japan Beach Soccer National Team check their tactics prior to International Friendly

Japan Beach Soccer National Team check their tactics prior to International Friendly

On 14 September, Japan Beach Soccer National Team had two-a-day training sessions, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Stands have gradually been built around the pitch and it showed that the international friendly match against Tahiti Beach Soccer National Team is coming-up soon.

In the morning, starting with a warming-up exercise, they had some training focused on technical skills and moved on to five-a-side practice game. In these scrimmages, the players repeatedly practiced and polished the team’s tactics discussed in the previous night’s meeting. These were done simulating the opponents in the actual match.

In the afternoon, they spent most of their time practicing in game-format. The intent here was for them to play naturally and execute their tactics without thinking too much on the pitch. In the end, they had free-kicks exercises to raise their attention to score even more. In beach soccer, scoring from set plays is common and free kicks are considered to be an important part of the match.

On Thursday 15 September, the team will have training sessions both in the morning and in the afternoon to make the best preparation possible for the first International Friendly against Tahiti on Saturday 17.

Players' Comments

FP #8  OBA Takaaki (Dorsole Kitakyushu)
It was the second day of our training. Today we spent time mainly checking our tactics which we had discussed in the previous night, improving the quality of counter attacks, and shooting exercises. We have had good preparation for the match against Tahiti. So, we want to make a kick-start for the Asian Beach Games by winning this match. For now, we will be united and do our best in each of our training sessions before the international friendly against Tahiti.

FP #12  ISO Hiroaki (Sol Mar Praia)
This is my first time playing for the national squad, so I was nervous yesterday. But now sensing the right amount of tension in training, I am feeling grateful for being able to practice with our coach, staff, and teammates. We don’t have much time before the match against Tahiti, so I will try to understand what our coach wants me to do, while paying good attention to my role in this team. I will do whatever it takes for the national team to win the match and try to get the most out of the remaining training sessions.
