Japan take final tune-up for knockout stage berth – FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015

After beating Argentina 4-3 in their second match of the group stage at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015, Japan had an hour’s training today from noon ahead of the final group stage match against Senegal.

Group A, consisting of Japan, Portugal, Argentina and Senegal, saw all teams earn three points and levelled with one win and one loss after the matchday 2 before having the final matches tomorrow.

Since the top two teams are to advance to the knockout stage, the winners of the Japan-Senegal match and Portugal-Argentine match will make a knockout stage berth tomorrow.

In today's training, Japan checked up their defensive form overall to halt the attacking force of Senegal. Senegal grabbed a six-goal win over Portugal yesterday, who Japan fell to in their opener.

After the training, the Japanese squad interacted with their family and fans who paid a visit all the way from Japan to cheer for them and pledged to win tomorrow's match.

Players' Comments

MATSUO Naoya (Pracia YAMAGUCHI)
As an important match is coming up tomorrow, today's training itself was lighter. But everyone was very focused. We will go through tactics and brace ourselves for tomorrow's match to go out for it in best form. Individually, I scored goals in the two straight matches so far, so I will play for the team and try to commit to team's win with my goal.

GINOZA Tomoya (TOKYO LEQUIOS BS)
We lost the first match but won the second one yesterday. Our team's mood seems very good. We went through the defence against Senegal in today's training. During the training, we called out to each other and communicated well. All the teams in our group still have a chance to get through the qualifying stage. We will work hard to win tomorrow and get to the knockout stage.
