“She stops shots that look like they are going in.”
The goalkeeper, who has been in goal for Nadeshiko Japan since 2017, uses her excellent reflexes and leaping ability to parry difficult shots and deliver accurate passes to her teammates.
She was also Japan's starting goalkeeper at the 2019 and 2023 FIFA Women's World Cups and the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, where she made a number of outstanding saves.
She is always the first to arrive at training and is uncompromising in her preparation routine.
Off the pitch, she has a white Mame Shiba whose name is Hanpen.
