Intriguing fixtures await at Sec. 7 including the Saitama Derby - Prince Takamado Trophy JFA U-18 Football Premier League 2020 Kanto
03 December 2020
The seventh sec. of the Prince Takamado Trophy JFA U-18 Football Premier League 2020 Kanto will take place on Sunday 6 December.
Urawa Red Diamonds Youth (Saitama) and Omiya Ardija U18 (Saitama) will clash at the “Saitama Derby” this weekend. Urawa will seek to earn their fourth win of the season following last week’s 2-0 victory over FC Tokyo U-18 (Tokyo), who hadn’t conceded a goal in four matches. The Omiya side is also coming off a victory, as they scored six goals to torment Yokohama F. Marinos Youth (Kanagawa). With both sides entering the weekend in great form, the derby match held at Saitama Stadium 2002 will be a must see fixture this week.
Eighth place Funabashi Municipal High School (Chiba) will host the match against seventh place Kashiwa Reysol U-18 (Chiba). With both sides coming off a 0-1 loss from last week, they will certainly seek to capitalise on their opportunities at the attacking third. Especially for Funabashi Municipal, who is still winless at the Premier League this season, they must find their winning ways ahead of the All Japan High School Soccer Tournament.
Ryutsu Keizai University Kashiwa High School (Chiba) will square off against Yokohama FM. Following their 0-1 loss against Funabashi Municipal at the prefectural final of the All Japan High School Soccer Tournament qualifiers, Ryutsu Keizai Kashiwa has won back to back matches, moving up to second place in the Kanto ranking. Including their postponed match, they still have two remaining matches, keeping them in contention for the title race. On the other side, Yokohama FM will seek to rebound from last week’s huge loss against Omiya. It will be interesting to see whether they come out attacking, or conservatively to improve their defence, against a red hot Ryutsu Keizai Kashiwa side.
Yokohama FC Youth (Kanagawa), who claimed the league lead last week, will face FC Tokyo this weekend. After getting their undefeated streak snapped by Omiya, Yokohama FC bounced back against Kashiwa Reysol last week, thanks to the late goal scored by NAKAGAWA Nobuteru (#10). With second place Ryutsu Keizai Kashiwa and third place FC Tokyo having one extra match to play, this week is a must win match for the Yokohama side to claim the league title. FC Tokyo has suffered their first loss of the season last week after rotating eight players from their starting line-up . It will be interesting to see how they will line-up this week in order to regain the dominance they showed early in the season.
