The 97th Emperor's Cup All Japan Football Championship match schedule and seeded clubs

The 12th Executive Committee meeting of the Japan Football Association (JFA) was held on Thursday 8 December. In the meeting, they discussed the 97th Emperor's Cup All Japan Football Championship, and the match schedule and seeded teams were decided.
In addition, they also announced that Honda FC (JFL) was selected as the "Best Amateur Seed", which will be exempt from the Prefectural Football Championship.

Total of 88 teams compete in a single-elimination format
Participating Teams:
J.League Division 1 - 18 teams, J.League Division 2 - 22 teams (*1), seeded amateur club - 1 team (*2), 47 teams qualified through Prefectural Football Championship
*1 J.League Division 1 and Division 2 teams for the 2017 season
*2 Honda FC
