“Official Kids Leader Instructor Training Course 2014” was held at J-STEP Shimizu

28 May 2014

“Official Kids Leader Instructor Training Course 2014” was held at J-STEP Shimizu

“Official Kids Leader Instructor Training Course 2014” was held from 16 to 18 May at J-STEP Shimizu, Shizuoka prefecture.
The training of instructors for children is very important for supporting the “JFA Declaration on Grassroots Football”, which was announced after the board meeting on 15 May, and for “Promotion of grassroots football”, one of the five top-priority tasks of JFA.
This course is to train instructors to hold a licensing training course for “Kids Leader”, who trains young players under age of 10 and encourages young kids to play football for the first time.

Participants of the training course were recommended by their local football association and they had 3 days of training sessions, such as growth of children, communication skill, and leading adult training participants for local “Kids Leader” licensing training courses.
After this training course, the participants will work as official instructors to promote more understanding of football in their local area.

JFA Kids Programme

YAMDE Hisao, JFA Kids Project
52 people from all over Japan participated in this 3-day training course at J-STEP, Shimizu. The training course has been previously organised at some venues such as in JFA Kids Project for over 10 years.
The importance of children in football is recognised not only locally but also globally as FIFA organises seminars for promoting grassroots football. It is the responsibility of adults for children to play football in a good environment.
We have to keep working to promote more understanding of the importance of “Kids Leader”; this is the essential mission for Japan’s football future. The future starts from enjoying football with kids in your local area.

Comments

ISHII Kazuhiro
I am a kids instructor of JFA Okayama. Formally, I used to coach local junior high school club and U-12 as National Training Centre Coach for 30 years, but now I chose to work as a kids instructor because I believe that strengthening kids generation is really important. It was nice for me to learn lot of things such as what is appropriate training for kids between 6-10 years, and why kids’ instructors are important. In Okayama, my local area, I will be happy to work for future Kids Leaders for children to benefit from them.

MUNEKATA Satoko
I lead children between ages 6-12 at Consadole Sapporo Junior Soccer School. It was very nice to learn a lot of things and to meet with people here at this training course. I could learn the importance of encouraging the younger generation. In Hokkaido, my local area, I will share what is necessary to support growth of kids with a variety of people from different generations - including mothers.

MORINAGA Noritoshi
I am a postgraduate student of the University of Kochi. Usually I coach at my university, but I also coach locally at an U-10 School team twice a week, and at local sports club. It was good for me to learn about characteristics of kid’s growth at each age and what to do considering the growth. I will share what I learned with parents of young players and also kids who haven’t played football yet in my local area of Kochi.

Official Kids’ Leader Training Course is organised by 47 local JFAs.
