Futsal Japan National coach Mr. Miguel made a passionate lecture at the Official Class S Coach training course
25 June 2014
Rodrigo Miguel, Futsal Japan National coach was invited to the Official Class S Coach training course to give a lecture about futsal on 24 June.
At the 90-mins lecture with 20 trainees, he talked about the importance of having futsal experience for young players due to futsal having nearly 6 times more chances to touch a ball in a game. He also strengthened the importance by showing some experiences of young players training in other countries. He also shared his idea with the trainees about the effectiveness of futsal even for top-level football games in terms of skills, such as toe-kick and good ball control using soles, and tactics by showing some edited pictures.
At the 2-hours of practical training which was held after the lecture, the trainees gradually got familiar with futsal’s characteristics such as limited play-space and a bounceless futsal ball. Mr. Rodrigo strengthened the importance of quickness both in play and decision-making in futsal by giving them a training session which he uses for his national futsal team.
After the practical training for 2 hours, Mr. Rodrigo stated the importance of futsal again to the sweating trainees. The training sessions finished with a word of appreciation from him for having an exceptional opportunity to give the training sessions to the top trainees who are trying to obtain an Official Class S Coach license.

Miguel RODRIGO Futsal Japan National Team Head Coach
This was my fourth opportunity to participate in the Official Class S Coach training course and it is always a good experience for me to join in this course. I am very happy to talk about futsal to the future top trainers who want to become J. League coaches or trainers who will have big impact on local communities. Especially, I believe that talking about the fact that futsal’s giving such a positive effectiveness to improve techniques and understanding tactics of football is very important for Japanese futsal.
Every year, the trainees tried their best to understand futsal with respect. I wanted more time, but I can definitely say that it was such a great experience for me to spend time with them today. I appreciate all staff people for offering me this wonderful opportunity.
