Case of coronavirus infection at JFA and future measures

It was confirmed on 17 March, that President TASHIMA Kohzo of Japan Football Association (JFA) tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Having returned from Europe and the US for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ Bidding activities earlier this month, President Tashima had tested himself on 16 March, after experiencing slight fever. He is currently receiving treatment under the instructions of the public health centre and is doing well under the circumstances.
Currently, there are no other JFA officials or staff who have symptoms of the novel coronavirus disease or flu symptoms. JFA will continue checking any symptoms within the organisation and also provide maximum support and measures to maintain individual health.
JFA will continue to prioritise the public safety and take full measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. Immediate actions will be taken under the instructions of the public health centre and the relevant authorities.
