JFA launches website for Japan's bid to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™
05 September 2019
Since establishing the “Nadeshiko vision” in 2007, Japan Football Association (JFA) has strived to achieve the goals that “make Nadeshiko Japan a top tier team in the world,” and “host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Japan.”
In March 2019, JFA has at last participated in the bidding process to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™. Currently, eight FIFA member associations including Japan, Australia, Brazil, and South Africa, remain as candidates to host the tournament.
Women’s football has evolved in a phenomenal speed and continues to increase its attraction. We strongly believe that Japan can further accelerate the momentum toward 2023 and bring people together beyond their race and gender barriers at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ host country will be determined next May. Together, let’s make our 2023 dream come true.
With the launch of the website, we have received a message from Nadeshiko Japan (Japan Women's National Team) Captain, KUMAGAI Saki.
